SolidWorks 2013

The 21st release of SolidWorks, SolidWorks 2013, was released last Monday and it looks to be an exciting release…  There are several new products that have been added along with many new enhancements.  There have also been improvements in the efficiency and speed of SolidWorks 2013.
The theme for SolidWorks 2013 is Respect Our Core Technology.  With powerful new products and design tools, faster model creation with more efficient 3-D models and 2-D drawings, improved performance and productivity and enhanced collaboration, SolidWorks 2013 is “3-D design simplified”.

SolidWorks 2011: Installation Improvements

In addition to the stability, performance, and memory management improvements in SolidWorks 2011, there have also been several improvements in the installation process.  A number of enhancements will allow for faster downloading of service packs and ease of use of the SolidNetWork License (SNL) Manager.
 First, in the base SolidWorks product, language localizations are able to be removed, thereby reducing the download size by over 1 GB.  I know that this will be met by much rejoicing!

SolidWorks 2011 SP0.0 Now Live!

I got a notification this morning from the SolidWorks Background Downloader…SolidWorks 2011 SP0.0 is now live!

We’re preparing to upgrade as I type.  How about you?  Will you roll now, or wait for a service pack or two?
